Election Day

Due to safety concerns for students and the inability to keep the school building secure during voting, both my school district and my children's school districts have elected to use Election Day as a professional development day for teachers. I believe it is a very good idea for the community to be able to use the school building to exercise their right to vote, and keeps the safety of the students in mind. I chose to vote early this morning because I tend to forget to go in the evening. The biggest office we had to vote for was the governor. This year, the current governor basically went uncontested. I like to vote because it is a privledge and the responsibility of being a citizen.
